Aim and objectives

The "Centrale Finanziaria Generale" wishes to operate by fully enhancing the opportunities for cooperation and economic integration in the Euro-Mediterranean region. It is an area which has increasing prospects for companies to invest in many economic sectors.
The "Centrale Finanziaria Generale" has the ambition to become a real catalyst for high value-added initiatives, by involving – initially at Italian level - manufacturing and service companies, banking and financial circles, as well as international economic cooperation institutions.

Its activity is mainly hinged around four macro-areas and focused on projects in infrastructure and the development of manufacturing and service companies. The “Centrale Finanziaria Generale” provides both financial and advisory services. Particular attention is paid to seize "merchant banking" opportunities, which can be matched by initiatives for the transfer of technology to less advanced countries, with positive repercussions also on labour force training at local level.

In this context, and in the framework of the projects designed to develop companies, the “Centrale Finanziaria Generale” can also play a role in promoting initiatives to this end:

• by fostering new business initiatives and possibly identifying the entrepreneurs interested in a specific project, after preliminarily checking whether they meet the necessary prerequisites and have the appropriate technical and financial competence and skills;
• by assisting clients as early as the initial phase of project definition;
• by assisting entrepreneurs in seeking and reaching agreements with technological, commercial and financial partners.

The “Centrale Finanziaria Generale” also provides to its clients corporate finance services, namely the wide range of tools/services targeted to companies for them to meet extraordinary financial needs. Hence the activities regard:

• assistance to define infrastructural and industrial projects and the related business plans, both at financial and corporate-legal levels, by resorting to in-house and external consultants;
• assistance to structure the financial “package” related to specific infrastructural and industrial initiatives;
• assistance to identify and negotiate partnership agreements between businessmen operating in the target geographical areas and possible providers and suppliers of venture capital and technology;
• assistance to find and raise financial resources on capital market.
The provision of advisory services can also be conducive to the activity of syndacation and granting of funds in pools.

The economic sectors in which the "Centrale Finanziaria Generale" is particularly interested, also by relentlessly seeking to involve the countries bordering on the Mediterranean, are the following:

• INFRASTRUCTURE
• AGRICULTURE AND FOOD INDUSTRY
• ENERGY
• TOURISM AND TRANSPORT
• MANUFACTURING
• TELECOMMUNICATIONS

Conclusions

The Shareholders’ quality, characteristics and economic commitment bear witness to their willingness to make the “Centrale Finanziaria Generale” a flexible and effective institution, capable of operating on the market and ready to live up to the ambitious goals it has set for itself.
In Italy, besides large companies, there is a wide range of small and medium-sized companies, which are characterized by flexibility and ability to innovate.
